Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Allied Lafayette Spray Foam Insulation website and any work you hire us to do. By using this site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them, so please read them before you schedule.

If a written estimate or contract we give you for a specific job says something different from this page, the written document for that job controls.

Who we are and what we do

Allied Lafayette Spray Foam Insulation is an insulation contractor in Lafayette, IN. We insulate and air seal homes and commercial buildings, which includes spray foam, blown-in insulation, attic and crawl space work, vapor barriers and removal of old insulation.

You can see the full list of services and the cities we work in on our home page, and read more about our crew on our About page. What's on this site is general information about insulation. It isn't a promise about your house until we've seen it and written up the job.

Estimates and pricing

Our estimates are free, done at your property and obligation-free, because we can't price insulation work fairly without seeing the attic, walls or crawl space in person. Your price depends on things like the size of the area, how much insulation is already up there, the material you choose and how easy the space is to reach.

An estimate is based on what we can see before the job starts. If we open things up and find something we couldn't see, such as wet or soiled insulation, animal droppings, rot or damaged framing, we'll stop, show you and explain the options. We won't do extra work or charge more for it until you've agreed.

Any price we quote online, by phone or by email before the visit is an estimate only, and the written estimate or contract for your job is the price that counts.

Scheduling, access and cancellation

We'll agree on a start date with you, but weather, material supply and conditions we find on site can move a schedule, and we'll let you know as soon as we know.

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to clear stored items from the attic, crawl space or rooms we're working in, or tell us ahead of time if you need help with that. Some work, especially spray foam, means you, your family and your pets need to stay out of the house for a while after we finish. We'll tell you before the job when you can come back, called the re-entry time, and you agree to follow it.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (765) 250-8263 as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started work for your job, you may owe for those costs, and your written estimate or contract will say how that's handled.

Payment

Your written estimate or contract states how much is due, when it's due and which payment methods we accept. Payment is due on those terms unless we agree to something different in writing.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until the account is current, and you'll be responsible for reasonable costs of collecting an unpaid balance where Indiana law allows it.

Our guarantee and what we don't warrant

Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come back and look at it, because we'd rather fix a problem than argue about it.

Beyond that guarantee and any warranty written into your contract, we make no other promises, stated or implied, including any promise that your work will produce a certain power bill, temperature or comfort level. Results depend on things outside our control, like how your house was built, your heating and cooling system and how the house is used.

Materials we install may carry their own warranty from the maker. Those warranties come from the maker, not from us, and we'll pass along what we receive.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and insured, and we stand behind the work we do. To the extent Indiana law allows, our total liability for any claim tied to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't responsible for problems that existed before we started, such as hidden water leaks, rot, pests or wiring issues, or for damage caused by others, by changes made to our work after we leave or by things outside our control. We also aren't liable for indirect losses, like lost income or the cost of staying elsewhere, except where the law says we can't limit that.

If we disagree

If you're unhappy, call us first, because most problems get settled with a conversation and a visit. If talking it through doesn't work, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before either of us goes to court.

Any lawsuit that still needs to be filed will be brought in the state or federal courts that serve Lafayette, Indiana, unless the law requires otherwise.

Which law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes won't affect a job already covered by a signed estimate or contract unless we both agree in writing.
